AI Music Video Generator: Turning a Song Into Visuals

What the generator does with your song
Give it an audio file and it runs roughly this sequence:
1. Analyse the audio. Tempo, beat positions, and section boundaries — where the energy shifts, where a drop lands, where a verse becomes a chorus.
2. Derive a shot list. Using your style direction, it plans a sequence of scenes with durations that land on musical boundaries rather than on a fixed timer.
3. Generate the visuals. Each scene is generated from its description in the style you specified.
4. Cut to the track. Scene transitions are placed at beat and phrase boundaries so the edit feels motivated by the music rather than imposed on it.
The audio is never regenerated. Your track goes in and comes out unchanged; only the picture is produced.
Getting the track in
One practical thing first, because it stops more attempts than anything else: you need an audio file, not a link to a page that plays audio.

Cohesion beats novelty
This is the single most important thing to understand about the format, and it runs against instinct.
Each scene is generated independently. Left unconstrained, the natural result is variety — twelve interesting shots that clearly belong to twelve different videos. Viewers read that as incoherence, not as range.
A music video is one mood sustained for the length of a song. Fix three things and hold them across every scene:
Palette. Name two or three dominant colours explicitly. "Cold blue, sodium orange, deep black" produces a consistent world; leaving colour unspecified produces a new one each scene.
Light and time. Night, golden hour, overcast. Light is what the eye reads first, so this does more for cohesion than any other single decision.
Place or register. Rain-slick streets, desert highway, underwater, a single room. Every scene should plausibly belong to it.
Deliberate contrast at a bridge or a drop is a real technique — the point is that variation should be a decision rather than drift.
Cutting: what makes it feel edited
Cut on phrases, not beats. At 120 BPM, cutting every beat is a cut every half second, which is exhausting past a few bars. Four or eight-bar boundaries are where the ear expects change.
Save the fast cutting. Rapid cutting works as contrast. If everything is rapid, nothing is.
Put the biggest visual change on the biggest musical change. The drop, the chorus lift, the instrument entering. Aligning those is most of what "professionally edited" means to a viewer.
Let some shots run. A held shot through a full phrase reads as confidence. Constant motion reads as filler.
Format: full version and promo cut
These are different edits and should be made as such.
16:9 is the canonical version for YouTube — full length, watched deliberately, intro allowed to breathe.
9:16 is the promotional cut for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. Thirty to sixty seconds built around the strongest section, composed so nothing important sits where the interface overlays sit. The vertical music video generator frames for this.
Make the vertical cut first. It is shorter, so iterating on style costs less, and choosing which section to use forces a useful judgement about the track.
Lyrics, and whether to show them
For vocal tracks there is a choice: captions or none.
Captions help discovery. Most feed viewing is muted, so lyrics on screen are the only way the words land at all. For promotional cuts this usually wins.
No captions preserves the mood. For the full YouTube version, where viewers have sound on and chose to listen, on-screen text can cheapen an atmospheric piece.
A common split: captions on the vertical promo, none on the full 16:9 version.
What it cannot do
Stated plainly, since the marketing in this category rarely does.
Performance footage. It cannot show you playing. If the video needs the artist performing, film that part.
Reliable recurring characters. A narrative video with a protagonist across many scenes will drift unless anchored to a reference image, and even then clothing varies. See consistent AI characters.
Lip-sync to lyrics. Generated people will not mouth your words correctly. Avoid close-ups of faces during vocals.
Precise narrative sequencing. Cause-and-effect across shots is weak. Mood, atmosphere, and association work far better than plot.
The format's strength is atmosphere sustained and cut to music. Push it toward storytelling and it gets worse, not better.
Rights

A sensible first run
Take the strongest sixty seconds of your track. Write one sentence of style direction naming a palette and a time of day. Generate a vertical cut. Look at what the style actually produced, adjust, regenerate. Once the look is right, run the full-length 16:9.
